In other news, I found out that last week Ayu and Tomoya broke up 🙁

Just a few days before the release of her glitter single, Ayu had posted on her fanclub only blog that she and Tomoya had officially broken up, opening up her message with ” Its unexpected but I’ve broken up with my lover (Totsuzen desu gaa, kobito to obetsuremashitaa) “, which was a little out of no where considering that the power couple of 7+ years had been so tight to the hip that there was word of marriage (Well, I was rooting for marriage since I heard of their relationship back in 2001) happening in October of this year.

There’s been many rumors in regards to the split — Everything from abortions to the flying egos of the two (Tomoya Nagase’s career has skyrocketed ever since 2003 while Ayumi Hamasaki’s has dwindled), but nothing confirmed from either parties except that the two have officially broken up. Word is that JE, Johnny’s Entertainment, who is Tomoya Nagase’s talent agency will try and hush this up because image is everything and anything at JE but its been a little fishy because within the same week Tomoya Nagase was announced to star in the Fall 2007 season drama Utahime.

If its a publicity stunt, it’s certainly a dirty one from both parties but its too legit to even suspect that. While Tomoya has kept silent about the issue, most of the spotlight as been on Ayu, especially all the finger pointing. Who’s to blame? Who’s the victim? No one knows; I really don’t.

I hope that they’ll get back together, 10 years is almost a marriage and they’re still young. I doubt a split like this will last for long… even if Ayu’s excuse is that she feels as if Tomoya is like a brother than a lover now.
