I’ll admit, I didn’t bother watching the first two episodes of this drama. One, because HD eps aren’t available and two, it was not on my top priority list. Finally catching an episode of the series did give me some impressions that changed my opinion on Hidarime Tantei Eye…
…. Just slightly.
Ainosuke is determined to stop his brother, Yumehito, from his evil plans by using the visions of his left eye to guide him closer to unraveling the mystery. Of course, he’s now completely traumatized in this episode because someone just got shot in front of him in the second episode and completely frustrated because he can’t figure out why his brother is killing all these people.
I will admit that I was confused on why Yumehito is running around as a police officer and how no one in the police station hasn’t put two and two together (Hey, wasn’t this guy dead?) but whatever. This 15 year old kid still manages to be at the scene of every crime and no one bothers to shoo him away other than make the ” ur annoying ” or ” you did this! ” comment. Ainosuke’s dumb school nurse, Hitomi, is at her dumbassness again but she isn’t as retarded as she was in the special.
Actually, if there was an improvement in this drama it would be the fact that all the retarded comedy from the special was axed from the renzoku. There’s no annoying detectives, Hitomi isn’t so retarded, and it isn’t as direct-to-videos 80’s movie campy.
This episode progressed to be interesting towards the end, I’m just confused on how he can now see everything Yumehito does. Like, after getting knocked out enough, he was able to see what Yumehito did in the meat truck that lead up to the stabbings. How is this possible? And, why doesn’t Yumehito kill his brother already? He’s threatened that he’d kill him like in every episode already.
If you want to kill the kid and get him from cockblocking your evil plans, do it then. God.
And one more thing… Crystal Kay, I love you, but girl… Take some acting classes. It’s horrible watching you on screen.
Yoko’s performance in this drama is kind of annoying. It’s like watching a combination of all his previous ” I don’t give a fuck ” characters rehashed again. He can be good at comedies and non-serious roles, but all his bad guys are exactly the same. It’s getting old to watch.
