For the sake of humanity, humans are created. But when there’s a fight for survival, a fight to be the sole clone, an epic battle begins.
Clone Baby is interesting, I’ll say that. The story is about a young man named Masamune who’s constantly picked on, beaten, and abused by those around him. After being assaulted in the bathroom by a gang of hoodlums, he decides that he wants to take his own life — a stranger meets him on the roof top and offers him a proposition, one to ” save his life “, and pushes him off of the roof. Assumed to be dead, he wakes up in a hospital with his family around him and clearly alive with nothing more than an injured left hand. Confused, remembering that he was pushed off of a roof top, he tries to resume his life normally while dealing with the mysteries of the situation he’s in; but after being attacked again by the same group, he cries out in the rain to be met with that same stranger,
” Want to trade places with me?”
” Fine, lets trade places! Anyone with a shitty life like this would want to do it! Right! Let me trade places with you! ”
” Lets seal the deal. ”
With a shake of his hand, the deal is secured. The next day, everything starts off normally, but everything starts to change once everyone he meets forgets who he is and believe, the stranger, Hiro, is now him.
” Since we traded, I took your test. ”
When he finally comes home, he hears his family talking and finds Hiro in his dinning room. His sister stands up and approaches him, asking him, ” Who are you? ”
Hiro has replaced him.
This drama is confusing. The first episode is fast and there’s a lot going on and too many subplots twisting and turning into each other. Like,
Its not bad, but its confusing. I hope the second episode fleshes out some of the story… Sometimes the 30 minute late night drama is great, but, for this show, I think it deserves the 45 minute treatment.
