Thought I had dropped it, didn’t y’all?
I was sourceless for this drama for a few weeks, which is why I haven’t reviewed any episodes. Thanks to chiisana-tantei, I’ve been able to catch up where I left off. Thanks!
What can I say about Clone Baby thus far? The show is far more engaging than Freeter, that’s for sure. Where it falls short in acting and production costs, it makes up with it tremendously by having a pretty engaging story with characters that are not all annoying to watch on screen. In episodes 8 – 10 we lose a lot of people due to hysteria behind the truth of the clones, and while some character losses may not be so important, a lot of our major players end up pulling some emotional reactions out of me.
I really do like Clone Baby; its campy yet entertaining. For what the show is worth, it really is engaging and trying to do a lot with what little budget the show has (and its very obvious the show is running on a tight budget). The acting can be down right terrible at times, but for some reason it makes the show even more entertaining because it just adds a little bit more character to the late night, 30 minute, B-drama. You have to think sometimes because the plot can get haywire, but its overall a pretty solid story.
There’s some things in this show that I still don’t like or understand, such as Masamune and Marika’s relationship. Is it incest? Is it not? Does Marika love Masamune or does she love Hiro? What’s going on with him and why does he defy the law of physics? Etc, etc, etc.
This week was the final ep but I haven’t seen it yet. A lot of cliffhangers were left in episode 10 so I am reaaaaallly excited to find out how this show ends.
